Immerse yourself in Bali’s traditional rice farming practices and learn the roots of the island’s agricultural heritage on a regenerative farm in Bayad Village, Payangan.
Surrounded by the beauty of the Balinese countryside, discover the story of the subak, Bali’s irrigation channels that date to the 9th century; the origins of Mansur Heritage Rice, a heritage grain that’s one of many Balinese varieties of rice; as well as the process of planting, growing, and harvesting rice in Bali – a way of life that is an integral part of Balinese culture for centuries.

- Our farm tour will take you to our permaculture garden, rice fields, nursery, composting house and poultry house.
- All tours are led by Begawan’s English-speaking Indonesian team members.
- You may also have a chance to meet our farm workers, bird keeper, chef, and other members of our organisation.
- Tours start at 9am, are available from Wednesday to Sunday, and run two to two and a half hours long, not including time for lunch.
- We ask for 24 hours notice beforehand so we can prepare well for your tour.
- Please bring your hat, comfortable shoes for walking, a refillable water bottle, and binoculars.

- Full payment for tours is required in advance upon booking. We accept credit or debit card payments, bank transfers, and payments in Indonesian Rupiah.
- Guests are responsible for arranging their own transportation.
- Guests are required to follow all safety guidelines and instructions provided by the tour guide.
- Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the tour start time will be eligible for a full refund. Unfortunately, cancellations made within 24 hours of the tour start time are non-refundable.
- Begawan reserves the right to modify or cancel tours due to unforeseen circumstances, such as severe weather conditions. In such cases, guests may choose to reschedule their tour or receive a full refund.
- Refunds for canceled tours will be processed within seven working days.
