Our Partners
Mandai Wildlife Group, based in Singapore, is committed to the vision of sustainable populations of wildlife and human communities thriving in functioning ecosystems. The Group supports conservation efforts to safeguard wildlife and their habitats. Mandai has supported Begawan financially, providing funding for the breeding and release of the Bali Starling, as well as contributing to the Foundation’s education programs, which help local communities become aware of the importance of conservation.
Zaprendo, a New Zealand EdTech developer and school advisory body, collaborates with governments, schools, and entrepreneurs to address social issues through educational innovation and curriculum design. Founders Alan Wagstaff and Inés Noe collaborated with Begawan Foundation to develop educational programs, curriculum, and activities that are Indonesia- and Bali-centric, engaging our students introspectively, actively, emotively, and cognitively to provide a quality well-rounded learning experience.
Founded in 1873, the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden in Ohio is the second oldest zoo in the United States, and is dedicated to creating adventure, conveying knowledge, conserving nature, and serving the community. Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden has been a financial supporter for all aspects of Begawan’s Bali Starling breeding and release program since 2021. The Zoo’s contributions help to cover costs for bird food, enclosure maintenance, and Bali Starling releases at Begawan Gita Breeding Centre.
Based in Victoria, Australia, RARES Foundation supports the recovery and restoration of endangered animal species through work both in the wild and in captivity. RARES supports the use of Population and Habitat Viability Assessment (PHVA) which allows selection of the best options for each animal species. The directors of RARES visited Begawan’s breeding centre in Bali in 2019, and have since supported the conservation programme by sponsoring the annual salary of Begawan’s birdkeeper.
